The NFL will play seven international games in 2025. The league announced nearly all of those contests Tuesday, and one team is set to make history.
Prior to Tuesday’s announcement, the league announced where each international game would take place. Three will occur in London, where the NFL began playing games in 2007. The league will also see a return to Brazil, where the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers opened their season last year.

And then the league will play one game in Germany, one game in Spain and one game in Ireland.
Here’s how the NFL’s international schedule looks in 2025:
-
Week 1: TBA vs. Chargers in São Paulo (Sept. 5)
-
Week 4: Steelers vs. Vikings in Dublin (Sept. 28)
-
Week 5: Vikings vs. Browns in London (Oct. 5)
-
Week 6: Broncos vs. Jets in London (Oct. 12)
-
Week 7: Rams vs. Jaguars in London (Oct. 19)
-
Week 10: Falcons vs. Colts in Berlin (Nov. 9)
-
Week 11: Dolphins vs. Commanders in Madrid (Nov. 16)
The Chargers’ Week 1 opponent was not announced by the league Tuesday. That announcement will occur Wednesday.
The Vikings will make history in 2025, becoming the first team to play two international games in two different countries in consecutive weeks. The Vikings will play the Steelers in Ireland in Week 4 before traveling to London to play the Browns in Week 5.
The NFL has made an effort to increase the number of international games in recent years. The league started hosting one game in London per season starting in 2007. That jumped to two in 2013, and then three the following year. The NFL has mostly played three games in London in each season since 2014, though skipped 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2022, the league started playing games in Germany. The Falcons and Colts in 2025 will be the fifth NFL game played in the country.
The Eagles and Packers in 2024 were the first teams to play an NFL game in Brazil. The league wanted to continue that tradition in 2025. The Chargers will open the season in the country.
Prior to 2025, Ireland and Spain have never hosted an NFL game.
In 2026, the NFL intends to play a contest in Melbourne, Australia, signaling the league’s commitment to playing even more games outside the United States.
