Chris Godwin has ‘no chance’ of being franchise-tagged
Veteran wide receiver Chris Godwin reportedly has “no chance” of receiving the franchise tag this offseason after his outstanding but injury-shortened 2024 season, a source told Jenna Laine of ESPN.
Fantasy Impact
Financially, this seems like the logical outcome. As Laine pointed out, Godwin has been tagged twice in his career by Tampa Bay already, meaning his tag would be a “144% raise.” Godwin will likely hit free agency this offseason, but the Buccaneers will “do what it takes” to retain the veteran WR going into Year 9 of his NFL career.

Jaire Alexander: ‘Strong signs’ Green Bay will part ways with CB
There are reportedly “strong signs” that the Packers will part ways with Jaire Alexander this offseason.
Fantasy Impact
Alexander has been limited to no more than seven games in three of the past four seasons. He is set to make $17.5 million if he’s on the team next season. His release would free up $6.8 million in cap space if he’s designated as a pre-June 1 release.

Tee Higgins to receive Bengals’ franchise tag
The Bengals plan to place the franchise tag on Tee Higgins.
Fantasy Impact
It will be the non-exclusive franchise tag placed on Higgins. This will give the two sides more time to come to an agreement on an extension, and it sounds like Higgins wants to return to the Bengals.
