NHL DFS Lineups: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (1/27/25)

Connor McDavid - NHL DFS lineup picks daily fantasy hockey

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.

I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.

Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We’re so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today’s DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, January 27th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EST. Among the 5-game slate tonight we have the return of Conor McDavid as the Oilers host the Kraken which will be a priority play on both sites.

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats

After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat about today’s slate with all the other great minds. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the NHL DFS Heat Map. I’ve begun to implement my personal trend chart. This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find certain positive or negative trends.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies – NHL DFS Picks

Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.

Tonight’s goalie slate is tough, I was hoping Yaroslav Askarov was projected but it looks like San Jose’s going with Alexandar Georgiev whom I want no part of. The other problem is a slate full of teams that lack in the shots on goal volume. When in doubt I look for the safest option in both cost and production.

Darcy Kuemper – DK $7.4K || FD $7.7K

Opponent – Detroit Red Wings

Darcy has been better at home but still holds great numbers away from Los Angeles with a 2.22 GAA and a .915 SV%. Unfortunately, this isn’t a save bonus possibility spot, reaching 30 saves would be a stretch as well. Hopefully, we can expect saves in the mid-twenties with a goal or two allowed and the win.

Others to consider: Yaroslav Askarov (DK $7.2K || FD $6.8K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers – NHL DFS Picks

Noah Cates – DK $3.6K || FD $4.9K

Opponent – New Jersey Devils

Noah and the rest of PHI 3 are a key value piece in tonight’s slate to afford EDM 1 and a top blueliner. The last 10 home game metrics have been more than admirable for a line that barely cost 10k on DK. Cates and Foerster are correlated on Philadelphia’s top PP unit giving yet another opportunity for the two to pair up and light the lamp.

Others to consider: Kevin Hayes (DK $2.9K || FD $4.1K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings – NHL DFS Picks

Zach Hyman – DK $5.9K || FD $6.6K

Opponent – Seattle Kraken

Carrying slate-breaking potential at a discount, especially when teamed with McDavid, Hyman under 6k should always be played. Zach hasn’t had the year he had last year but has begun to turn it on as of late. A fully reunited EDM1 facing a struggling Kraken team could be what the doctor ordered.

Others to consider: Tyson Foerster (DK $3.6K || FD $5.1K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen – NHL DFS Picks

When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.

 Cody Ceci- DK $3.4K || FD $4.1K

Opponent – Pittsburgh Penguins

Cody has been a solid contributor in shots and blocks while reaching 20-minute TOI. Tonight, hosting Pittsburgh puts him in a potentially great shot-block spot while coming in at a discount compared to his place in the defensemen chart.

Others to consider: Rasmus Ristolainen (DK $3.3K || FD $4.3K)

My top 25 defensemen chart focuses more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor over the last month.
