Notre Dame football gets a commitment from top-100 running back over Michigan

Saturday evening was the time for 2026 Texas running back Javian Osborne to make his college decision, and he ended up picking Notre Dame over Michigan.

The 5-foot, 10-inch and 200-pound back is one of the nation’s top prospects, ranking as the No. 90 overall player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. It was a big recruiting win for the Irish, as they landed commitment No. 14 of the cycle.

Notre Dame now has four offensive skill position players committed, as head coach Marcus Freeman is loading up on talent on that side of the ball. This core could carry the Irish offense for years to come, and Osborne is now one of the main components of that.

This 2026 class could be the beginning of a very strong recruiting run, as Notre Dame has put together some solid previous group in the Freeman era, but this one is shaping out to be the best.
