Notre Dame men’s basketball announces two-game preseason slate for 2025

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – College basketball season is still several months away, but we’re already learning what Notre Dame’s preseason is going to look like.

The men’s team announced on Tuesday that it will host DePaul in an exhibition game inside Purcell Pavilion on Oct. 24. Tipoff time has yet to be determined.

Notre Dame and DePaul have a storied and rich history on the hardwood, with 106 games being played against each other. While this matchup won’t count for the record books, the Irish have won 11 straight against the Blue Demons.

Prior to the home matchup against DePaul, Notre Dame will travel down to Indianapolis on Oct. 17 to play an exhibition against Butler inside historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Much like the DePaul series, the Irish and the Bulldogs have met on the hardwood a lot — 103 times, to be exact. It’s been 20 years since Notre Dame’s last trip to Hinkle.

It’s also worth noting that Irish head coach Micah Shrewsberry has a strong connection with Butler after having served as an assistant coach during the Bulldogs’ back-to-back runs to the national championship game in 2010 and 2011.
