SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The Notre Dame women’s basketball team is continuing to slowly rebuild its depleted roster this offseason, and this time the Irish are adding a player with a lot of starting experience.
According to On3.com, The Fighting Irish have landed a commitment from former Vanderbilt starting guard Iyana Moore.
The graduate transfer missed her sophomore season in 2022-23 with a knee injury, but she started 80 of the 100 games she appeared in for the Commodores.
Last year, Moore averaged 12.4 points, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. She’s also been a 33% three-point shooter and an 80% free throw shooter in every year of her career.
The addition of Moore helps fill a Notre Dame roster that was decimated at the end of the season by the transfer portal, the WNBA Draft and graduation. But right now, On3 says she is only the eighth scholarship player that’s set to suit up for the Irish in 2025-26.
The Irish have also added the following players this offseason through the transfer portal:
- Malaya Cowles (Forward, Wake Forest)
- Gisela Sanchez (Forward, Kansas State)
- Vanessa de Jesus (Guard, Duke)
- Kelly Ratigan (Guard, Loyola [MD])
