COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football team sits at the top of the sport after winning its first national championship in a decade.
The Buckeyes did by winning four-straight games to win the title in the first year of the 12-team College Football Playoff. That has been the headline for the past two months as they kick off spring practice. But they aren’t the only team on campus achieving that goal.
The Ohio State pistol team is in the middle of a dynasty, having won their fifth-straight title. OSU won with a score of 4,476, beating out Navy (4,350), Army (4,325), Utah (4,285) and The Citadel (4,213). It’s also the sixth since head coach Emil Milev arrived in 2018.
The women’s ice hockey team could also join this list of champions as they look to repeat. The Buckeyes clinched their fifth-straight trip to the Frozen Four with a 6-1 win over St. Lawrence.
Their semifinal game against Cornell will be played on Friday in Minneapolis at either 5 or 8:30 p.m. on ESPN+. A win would mean making a fourth-straight national title game with a chance for a third title in that span.
Coaches Clinic
Ohio State will once again hold its annual Coaches Clinic as its lead-in to the 2025 Spring Showcase on April 12.
The Clinic will start on Thursday, April 10 and run through Saturday, with a chance to sit and talk football with the coaches.
