One thing to love about every college football team ranked in way-too-early top 25 for 2025 season

17. Kansas State Wildcats

One thing we love: Avery Johnson

The young Kansas State quarterback went through some growing pains in Year 1 as the starter in Manhattan. The ceiling remains high for Johnson, who is now taking play calls from former Utah State and Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells.

16. Michigan Wolverines

One thing we love: Five-star freshman Bryce Underwood

Michigan has no legitimate reason to wait on beginning the new era with Underwood — the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2025 class — as the starting quarterback. Drawing comparisons to Cam Newton and Vince Young is enough to be excited about.

15. Arizona State Sun Devils

One thing we love: Roster retention

Arizona State could have been gutted by the transfer portal following its surprising run to a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff quarterfinal appearance. Instead, the Sun Devils retained every eligible starter, setting the stage for another strong push in 2025.

14. Miami Hurricanes

One thing we love: Transfer quarterback Carson Beck

This could be one of the biggest boom-or-bust transfer portal moves of the 2025 season. Beck was inconsistent at Georgia, but perhaps a fresh start at Miami gets him back in the conversation for the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
