The Oregon men’s basketball team has secured another verbal commitment, and he has a very strong connection to another incoming Oregon transfer this offseason. Howard University junior forward Miles Stewart has announced he will play his final year of college basketball in Eugene for the Oregon Ducks. The 6-foot-7 forward is the brother if incoming transfer Sean Stewart of Ohio State.
Miles Stwart announced his transfer on his social media channels on Friday afternoon.
The 6-foot-7 Miles Stewart spent four seasons of college basketball at Howard. He redshirted during the 2021-22 basketball season, and then proceeded to play 77 games with five starts over the next three years. In his 77 career games for the Bison, Stewart averaged 8 minutes per game and 2.2 points to go with 1.9 rebounds. He shot 55.2 percent from the field and made 59.2 percent of his free throws.
In his final season for Howard this past year, Stewart played the most of his career. He averaged a career-high 10.5 minutes played per game, while averaging 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He shot 59.4 percent from the field and made his one three-point attempt. Stewart also shot 63.2 percent from the free throw line. He recorded one double-double this past year when he scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds in a game against a non-Division-1 program. He scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds in a five-point win over Morgan State in January.
Stewart was named a Mid-Eastern Athletic All-Academic selection this past season with a cumulative grade point average above a 3.0.
Stewart gives the Ducks another option who can play small forward or power forward next season.
Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class now features five players: three-star high school guard JJ Frakes and other incoming transfers four-star forward Sean Stewart, four-star guard TK Simpkins, and four-star forward Devon Pryor.
The Ducks will continue to recruit in the transfer portal and have room to add multiple other prospects to its roster.
