The Oregon Ducks got some major recruiting news on Sunday night to kick off the month of June on a high note, landing a commitment from 4-star edge rusher Prince Tavizon, from Lincoln High School in San Diego.
Tavizon, who stands at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 76 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 13 EDGE in the nation. He chose the Ducks over the likes of the USC Trojans, Texas A&M Aggies, and California Golden Bears.
Tavizon is the latest prospect that Oregon has plucked from Lincoln, creating a nice pipeline with the high-profile San Diego school. Last year, they got a commitment from 4-star QB Akili Smith Jr. from Lincoln, and they also got former 4-star CB Jahlil Florence from there in the 2023 class as well.
With the addition of Tavizon, Oregon now moves up in the 2027 national recruiting rankings, sitting at No. 13 in the nation. Tavizon is the first verbal commitment that the Ducks got in the class.
Oregon’s recruiting could go on a hot streak over the next several weeks. A number of high-profile prospects are taking official visits to Eugene over the next month, too, with multiple 5-star players who are predicted to land with the Ducks coming in for another look. There is a good chance when the month is over that, Oregon will be back in the top 10 of the 2026 rankings once again.
