The Oregon State baseball team suffered a 6-2 loss to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Sunday night at Charles Schwab Field, falling for the first time at the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

The setback sends the Beavers (48-15-1) to the losers’ bracket, where they will face the Louisville Cardinals on Tuesday at 11 a.m. PT in an elimination game. Oregon State defeated the Cardinals 4-3 in the opening round at the MCWS.

The Chanticleers (55-11), who have won 25 in a row, will face the OSU-Louisville winner in a semifinal round matchup Wednesday.
