Oregon State men’s basketball is adding three-point shooting to its roster via the transfer portal.
Former Oakland guard Malcolm Christie announced his transfer to the Beavers on Thursday. Christie will utilize his extra year of eligibility to join Wayne Tinkle’s squad.
Christie averaged 8.3 points per game for Oakland in 2024, his first season in Division I college basketball after playing four seasons for Dalhousie University in Canada. While he shot just 32.1% from three for Oakland, he averaged seven attempts per game from beyond the arc.
Christie attended Fredericton High School in New Brunswick, Canada, and his mother played college basketball for the University of New Brunswick.
At Dalhousie, Christie averaged 22.1 points per game and set a program record with 51 points in 2023. He shot 38.3% from three in his Dalhousie career.
Oregon State has been busy replenishing its roster in the portal, adding Pittsburgh center Jorge Diaz Graham, 7-2 Coastal Carolina center Noah Amenhauser, and Australian forward Stephen Olowoniyi from Southern Indiana. The Beavers previously lost seven scholarship players, including all five starters, to the portal.
