Oregon State women’s basketball adds forward with Final Four experience

Oregon State women’s basketball is adding another Australian to its roster, this time with postseason experience at an elite college program.

Former North Carolina State forward Lizzy Williamson announced her transfer to the Beavers on Tuesday. Williamson is entering her seventh season of college basketball after an injury cut her final season in Raleigh short.

The 6-5 Williamson averaged just 4.9 minutes per game in 19 appearances for the Wolfpack in 2023-24, and only appeared in three games before suffering her season-ending injury this past year.

Williamson was, however, part of a NC State team that made a Final Four run in 2023-24 before a loss to South Carolina in the national semifinals.

Prior to her two seasons at NC State, Williamson played three seasons at Southern Utah and redshirted in one season at Utah State. Her final season at Southern Utah was her most productive collegiate campaign, averaging 9.6 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

Oregon State is one of just a handful of teams with zero departures in the transfer portal so far this offseason. The Beavers added 6-8 Belgian center Néné Sow in the portal, along with Washington State guard Jenna Villa. Joining Williamson in a trio of Australians added to Scott Rueck’s program are Class of 2025 guards Katelyn Field and Keira Lindemans.
