It was quite a first quarter of this century with Alabama dominating the national college football scene as Nick Saban led the Crimson Tide to six national championships. To choose the best of those games is quite a chore, and subject to disagreement.
To recap, a CBSsports.com article by Chris Hummer on the top game in each of the 25 years of this millennium (2000-24) seemed to me to be a little short on Alabama wins, heavy on Crimson Tide losses. To clarify, the article was on regular season games only, so Bama’s many championships – Southeastern Conference, bowls, national – were not eligible for inclusion.
