Penn State football once again got into the spirit of THON weekend by welcoming families that have been impacted by pediatric cancer into Lasch Building for a behind-the-scenes look at the program Saturday. This is our photo gallery from what has become an annual event in Happy Valley.
The families made their way over from the main THON activities happening at the nearby Bryce Jordan Center, and were greeted by nearly the entire PSU football squad cheering for them. Stars like Drew Allar, Nick Singleton, Kaytron Allen, Vega Ioane, Dani Dennis-Sutton and Zakee Wheatley were among the Nittany Lions who offered tours of the recently renovated facility. You’ll also see some of the newest PSU players, including transfer wide receivers Kyron Hudson and Devonte Ross, and many of the mid-year enrollees.
After the tours, fun and games ensued. Kids had foot races with players, chucked footballs around, and even showed off their tackling skills. There was face-painting, a caricature artist and — of course — ice cream was served. Smiles and hugs and high-fives were the order of the day.
There was some pretty brutal singing, too. You can experience a bit of that in the video above. And you can read Tyler Donohue’s recap of the event here, which features quotes from several Nittany Lions.
The gallery, meanwhile, is below. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as we did putting it together.
