On Wednesday, Larry Blakeney thought the camera crew that showed up to interview him for a story on Demarcus Ware, who played for him at Troy en route to a 12-year NFL career and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Instead, he got the news of a lifetime. He had been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
Blakeney played and coached at Auburn. He became an icon in 24 seasons as Troy’s head coach.
