Oregon State and Baylor are meeting for just the second time ever following a 2005 matchup at the College World Series.
– The Bears eliminated Oregon State with a 4-3 win, scoring a solo run in the 10th inning. Mitch Canham started behind the plate for OSU, batting in the eighth spot. Ryan Gipson also started for the Beavers at second base, collecting three hits at the ninth spot.
– Oregon State is making its second appearance at Globe Life Field. The Beavers went 3-1 there last season, defeating Texas Tech (10-4), Michigan (11-1) and Oklahoma State (8-1). The lone loss was a 5-4 defeat to Arkansas.
– Aiva Arquette was named the Brooks Wallace Award Shortstop of the Week on Tuesday. He is batting .440 (11-for-25) with eight runs scored, two doubles, three home runs and 10 runs batted in over the first seven games of the season.
– Arquette equaled a career-high with three RBI against Minnesota.
– Arquette and Trent Caraway are the two Beavs who have hit safely in all seven games this season. Caraway is 13-for-33 with eight runs, three doubles and five RBI on the year.
– Easton Talt and Tyce Peterson have both reached base safely in all seven games.
– Arquette and Jacob Krieg are tied for the team lead with 10 RBI.
– As a team, Oregon State has 50 walks to 64 strikeouts. Opponents, meanwhile, sport a 2.22 WHIP early on.
– Just three of the 12 inherited runners by Oregon State’s bullpen have scored thus far.
– Nelson Keljo, Oregon State’s probable starter Friday, is set to make his 46th career appearance and seventh start. He is 1-0 with a 3.35 ERA in 26 non-conference games. He strikeout-to-walk ratio is 3-to-1.

– BU is off to a 7-1 start to the season, it’s best since 2019 and just the fourth time since 1995 that the Bears have opened the year 7-1 or better [2017 (8-0), 2019 (8-0) and 2008 (7-1].
– Baylor took care of SFA on Tuesday night, 9-4, marking its seventh-straight midweek win dating back to last season.
– Baylor returns 22 players from its 2024 roster, including six position player starters, and welcomes 18 newcomers.
– BU has 16 seniors on its 2025 roster, including six fifth-year players and three sixth-year players.
– The Bears are led by the outfield trio of seniors — Enzo Apodaca, Ty Johnson and Wesley Jordan, who accounted for nearly 36% of the team’s offense a year ago (176 of 491 hits)
– Baylor completed its first Opening Weekend sweep since 2019, outscoring Youngstown State 38-11.
