The Boilermakers will face at least four high-major opponents in the non-conference season, and could add more when the field for the Baha Mar Championship is released.
It’s another challenging non-conference schedule for Purdue. Last season, Purdue faced the 18th toughest non-conference schedule, which was third among power conference programs. In the 2023-24 season, Purdue faced the ninth toughest non-conference schedule, which was the toughest among power conference programs.
The Boilermakers will play one true road game, against Alabama, who has made it to at least the Elite 8 in back-to-back seasons. Purdue will play three neutral site games, with one of them against Auburn in Indianapolis.
The mid-major teams on Purdue’s schedule have had success recently as well. Akron has won the MAC Conference Tournament in back-to-back seasons and has been to the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four years. Kent State made the NCAA Tournament in 2023 and Oakland made the NCAA Tournament in 2024, upsetting Kentucky in the First Round.
Last year, Purdue made it to the Sweet 16 for the sixth time in the last eight tournaments. Next season, Purdue will look to get their third Big Ten regular season title in the last four years.
