Red Sox lineup: On Garrett Crochet day, hot-hitting OF sits vs. Seattle

BOSTON — Red Sox center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela is hitting .281 with four RBIs, four steals and an .812 OPS in his last 10 games dating back to April 12. But he’s not in the lineup as the Red Sox face the Mariners in the finale of a six-game homestand Thursday afternoon.

Manager Alex Cora is still intent in working David Hamilton into the lineup a couple times a week and will do so Thursday, as Hamilton is starting at second base and Kristian Campbell is playing center field against Seattle and righty Bryan Woo. Carlos Narváez is back behind the plate after Blake Sabol caught Wednesday. The Red Sox, who are two games above .500 at 14-12, will try to clinch a series win behind ace Garrett Crochet, who enters with a 1.13 ERA.

Before the game, the Red Sox made a roster move, swapping out reliever Josh Winckowski (who threw 80 pitches Wednesday) for hard thrower Luis Guerrero.

First pitch is set for 1:35 p.m. ET on getaway day.
