Red Sox Pitcher Acquired In Rafael Devers Trade Embracing Move

There’s a lot of pressure on the Boston Red Sox newcomers acquired in the Rafael Devers trade.

Left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison was dealt to Boston and ultimately sent to Triple-A Worcester. He hasn’t had much time to think about being with the Red Sox, but is looking forward to the opportunity in front of him.

“Probably still haven’t processed it yet, to be honest,” Harrison told reporters, according to MassLive’s Katie Morrison-O’Day. “I’m looking at taking it day-by-day and happy I’m here. I’m looking to get settled in here and see where it takes me.”

Harrison started the 2025 season with San Francisco’s Triple-A team where he started six games. Through 26 innings, the lefty had a 3.46 ERA before he was called up to the Giants. In San Francisco, he had a 4.56 ERA in eight appearances.

Despite being traded in a high-profile deal, the 23-year-old sees it as an opportunity.

“Obviously, a player of that magnitude I’ve watched honestly growing so it’s kind of cool to see,” Harrison said. “It just speaks to how much (the Red Sox front office) believes in the package and return. Just excited to go out there and show these people what I can do.”
