The special uniform features a custom “Detroit” script across the chest, inspired by classic car logos that also feel similar to Michigan and Michigan State’s hockey uniforms.
Racing stripes, like those on a race car, are featured on the sleeves, socks and helmet.
To pay tribute to Detroit’s extensive hockey history, team mascot Al the Octopus is featured on a hem loop and “Hockeytown” is written on the pants.
You can see all the flourishes and fun touches the uniforms have in the gallery above.
The jerseys will be available for pre-order at all Red Wings team store locations.
The Red Wings will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on March 1 at Ohio Stadium.
The Blue Jackets’ uniform for the event pays homage to Ohio’s history, which no one cares about. It has hockey sticks on its shoulder, which seems redundant. You can see them here.
