Report: Expanded College Football Playoff bracket gaining support

A 16-team college football playoff bracket is getting support in the Big Ten and SEC. This was reported by Yahoos Ross Dellenger on Friday.

This would include four SEC bids, four Big Ten bids, two ACC bids, two Big 12 bids, one Group of Six bid, and three at-large bids. This particular bracket could also have play-in games between two Big Ten and SEC teams.

This bracket would undoubtedly help the Big Ten and SEC conferences, as the play-in games would be an added bonus. The SEC and Big Ten would have the highest number of bids, allowing them to potentially control the bracket.

It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out. The at-large bids could provide some intrigue depending on how the season shakes out. Nevertheless, it appears as though the College Football Playoff is poised to expand and add some late-season intrigue on the road to the College Football Playoff National Championship.
