Report: Kickoff times set for Clemson-LSU, South Carolina-Virgina Tech
College football’s opening weekend has a clearer picture now, with kickoff times for Clemson and South Carolina’s openers reportedly set.According to national college football insider Brett McMurphy, Clemson and LSU will kick off in primetime on ABC, with their Saturday, Aug. 30 game in Clemson’s Death Valley scheduled for 7:30 p.m.South Carolina’s standalone neutral site contest on Sunday, Aug. 31 will be played at 3:00 p.m. on ESPN, according to McMurphy.The Tigers and Tigers have a home-and-home scheduled for this fall and next, with Clemson traveling to Baton Rouge next season. The two programs have met just four times previously, with the most recent meeting coming in LSU’s 42-25 win over Clemson in the 2019 CFP National Championship game.Sunday’s matchup between the Gamecocks and Hokies in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be the first meeting between programs since 1991, and the first opportunity for South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer to coach against his alma mater, and the school his father, Frank Beamer, coached for 29 years.
