Carmelo Anthony will get to add first ballot Hall of Famer to his impressive résumé.
The 10-time NBA All-Star was notified he was elected into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Anthony headlined the list of finalists announced in February that included Sue Bird and Maya Moore. Dwight Howard, Marques Johnson, Buck Williams and Tal Brody were also among the finalists, while Billy Donovan, Mark Few and Jerry Walsh highlighted the coaching nominees.
The Women’s Committee nominated Jennifer Azzi and Sylvia Fowles in addition to Bird and Moore.
Anthony played 19 NBA seasons and led the league in scoring in 2013 while he was with the New York Knicks. He’s also a three-time Olympic gold medalist and has a bronze medal with the U.S. men’s basketball team.
The class of 2025 will be announced on April 5 at the NCAA Men’s Final Four.
