Spurs’ Sidy Cissoko: Recalled by Spurs
Rotowire
Nov 30, 2024
Cissoko was recalled by the Spurs on Saturday, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Cissoko is fresh off a 20-point performance across 29 minutes in Austin’s 114-104 win over the Texas Legends on Friday night. He has averaged just 2.9 minutes across eight NBA appearances this season, so he is not expected to have much of an impact on the Spurs’ wing. Nonetheless, the 20-year-old Frenchman will be available for Sunday’s game in Sacramento.

Spurs’ Jeremy Sochan: Progressing toward return
Rotowire
Nov 29, 2024
Sochan was able to participate in 5-on-5 work during Friday’s practice following surgery on a fracture in the proximal phalanx of his left thumb in early November, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Sochan’s return to 5-on-5 work suggests he is nearing a return to game action. While the Spurs have yet to provide a clear timetable for his comeback, an update is expected sooner rather than later. The 21-year-old appeared in seven regular-season outings before his long-term absence streak, during which he averaged 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 51.2 percent from the field across 29.3 minutes per game.

Spurs’ Julian Champagnie: Goes for 18 points in loss
Rotowire
Nov 28, 2024
Champagnie finished Wednesday’s 119-101 loss to the Lakers with 18 points (6-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 31 minutes.
Champagnie has settled in well in a starting role this season, and he’s been surprisingly productive despite not having a substantial role in the Spurs‘ offensive scheme. The former St. John’s star has scored in double digits in all but one of his last nine outings, averaging 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 34.3 percent from deep in that span.

Spurs’ Harrison Barnes: Extends solid stretch of play
Rotowire
Nov 28, 2024
Barnes supplied 19 points (6-10 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds across 33 minutes during Wednesday’s 119-101 loss to the Lakers.
Barnes didn’t do much outside of the scoring column, but fantasy managers won’t have a problem with that if he continues to score at the same rate he’s done in recent weeks. The veteran forward has scored at least 19 points in four of his last five appearances, a span in which he’s averaging 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 58 percent from the floor.

Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama: Fills stat sheet in loss to Lakers
Rotowire
Nov 28, 2024
Wembanyama chipped in 20 points (9-20 FG, 2-9 3Pt), 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two steals in 33 minutes during Wednesday’s 119-101 loss to the Lakers.
Wembanyama found a way to fill the stat sheet and record at least two tallies in each of the five major categories despite this 18-point defeat at home against the Lakers. The star big man is having a strong campaign in his sophomore year, averaging 25.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.7 blocks per game since the beginning of November. He’s been dealing with knee issues in recent weeks, but if he stays healthy, Wembanyama should remain an elite fantasy option across all formats.

Spurs’ Devin Vassell: Solid numbers in limited minutes
Rotowire
Nov 28, 2024
Vassell (knee) tallied 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two steals and one assist in 21 minutes off the bench in Wednesday’s 119-101 loss to the Lakers.
Vassell was back in action after missing the Spurs‘ last five games due to a left knee contusion. As was the case when he completed his recovery from offseason foot surgery — which sidelined him for the first nine games of the campaign — Vassell came off the bench, and until he’s ramped up enough to play 30-plus minutes on a regular basis, he may continue to work with the second unit. Vassell looked good during his time on the court Wednesday, pacing the Spurs bench in scoring while also making some contributions on the defensive end.

Johnson (hamstring) is available for Wednesday’s game against the Lakers, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Johnson was initially listed as probable for the second leg of this back-to-back set, and in the end, the veteran forward will be available. He notched 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and five rebounds in 19 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz.

Spurs’ Devin Vassell: Will play off bench in return
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Vassell (knee) is available for Wednesday’s game against the Lakers but will come off the bench and be under a minutes restriction, Michael C. Wright of ESPN.com reports.
As expected, Vassell is cleared to suit up after missing five straight games due to a left knee contusion. He missed the first nine games of the season while recovering from offseason foot surgery and has come off the bench in all four of his appearances, playing 25 or fewer minutes in each game. However, he’s been productive in that limited role, averaging 16.3 points and 3.5 assists in 22.5 minutes per game.

Spurs’ Keldon Johnson: Probable for Wednesday
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Johnson (hamstring) is probable for Wednesday’s game against the Lakers,Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
Johnson returned from a one-game absence Tuesday against the Jazz, finishing with 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and five rebounds in 19 minutes. Due to his limited workload, the Spurs likely feel confident enough to throw him out there again for the second leg of this back-to-back set.

Spurs’ Tre Jones: Hands out seven assists
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Jones closed Tuesday’s 128-115 victory over Utah with two points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 19 minutes.
Making just his sixth appearance of the season, Jones recorded a season-high seven assists in the win, but his jumper continues to elude him. He’s now shooting 28.0 percent from the field and 20.0 percent from beyond the arc. He’s a tough sell in fantasy when the Spurs are getting close to full strength.

Spurs’ Keldon Johnson: Scores 10 in return
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Johnson provided 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and five rebounds in 19 minutes during Tuesday’s 128-115 win over the Jazz.
Johnson returned from a one-game absence and played limited minutes as a precaution. The Spurs play the second leg of a back-to-back set Wednesday against the Lakers, so it’s possible the team dialed the forward back to keep him somewhat fresh for that contest.

Spurs’ Blake Wesley: Notches 11 points
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Wesley produced 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists and two steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday’s 128-115 win over the Jazz.
Wesley saw his largest workload of the season Tuesday and made the most of his minutes. However, the Spurs will be getting Devin Vassell (knee) back in action Wednesday, so Wesley will face an uphill battle for consistent minutes when the Spurs are close to full strength.

Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama: Pours in 34 points
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Wembanyama registered 34 points (13-23 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 37 minutes during Tuesday’s 128-115 win over the Jazz.
Although Wembanyama failed to reach the double-double mark, he was still able to post an impressive scoring total. He also striped six three-pointers in the win, matching his second-best total in the category. His tremendous effort returns him to 30-point territory after his eight-game streak was snapped two games ago.

Spurs’ Julian Champagnie: Posts 15 points in win
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Champagnie totaled 15 points (4-9 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists and three steals over 36 minutes during Tuesday’s 128-115 victory over Utah.
Champagnie’s numbers have been a little rocky as an everyday starter with the Spurs, but he’s shown an ability to consistently contribute in secondary categories. Over 18 games, the third-year pro is averaging 11.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Spurs’ Stephon Castle: Matches season high in victory
Rotowire
Nov 27, 2024
Castle ended Tuesday’s 128-115 victory over Utah with 23 points (9-20 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one block in 29 minutes.
The backcourt combination of Castle and Chris Paul is reaping benefits for the Spurs, as there is plenty of opportunity for both players to benefit. The 2024 first-round pick has made an immediate contribution and is a key piece responsible for the Spurs’ surprising 10-8 record. The UConn product is expected to remain with the first unit for the foreseeable future.
