Searching for signs of progress from Lukas Reichel’s second full NHL season

For a few seasons now, Lukas Reichel’s name has remained the source of much consternation around these parts, as the 2020 first-round pick continues to offer brief glimpses of a potential long-term piece while also being frustratingly inconsistent. Combine that with questionable handling from multiple coaches that have seen Reichel thrown all over the lineup –and sometimes into the press box — and it’s all added up to a player that seems to be running out of time to carve out a permanent role in Chicago despite turning just 23 years old last week.

But Reichel is under contract for one more season at an extremely affordable cap hit of $1.2 million, so is there something Reichel’s shown recently which suggests there’s more talent to be unearthed by new coach Jeff Blashill?
