A fight in the stands at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis on Tuesday night delayed the end of a college basketball game between Virginia Commonwealth University and St. Louis University.
It’s unclear why the fight started, but it quickly sprawled over several rows near the VCU bench during a timeout with about 70 seconds left in the game.

“You don’t often see this in college basketball, but there is a heck of a brawl going on in the stands,” play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy said on the CBS Sports Network.
Security was seen escorting several people out of the arena before play resumed after a roughly seven-minute delay, according to The Associated Press.
St. Louis ultimately won the game 78-69 behind 26 points from Gibson Jimerson. The teams are now tied in second place in the Atlantic 10 Conference, behind George Mason.
