Series Finale Goes to Stanford

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College Baseball (23-26, 10-17 ACC) fell 11-7 to Stanford (24-20, 9-18 ACC) in the series rubber match on Sunday afternoon at Harrington Athletics Village.

Stanford jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the opening frame on a solo home run to left field. The visitors hung a six-spot in the second, and another three in the third to push the Cardinal lead to 10-0. After a groundout brought another across in the fourth, Stanford took a 11-0 lead into the fifth.

The Eagles found the scoring column in the sixth, with Beck Milner and Vince Cimini bringing runs across in consecutive at-bats. Cimini followed in the eighth with his second RBI single in as many plate appearances, and Adam Magpoc laid down a perfect bunt in the next at-bat, reaching on an RBI single of his own. Patrick Roche capped off the eighth with a sacrifice fly to right field.

Kyle Wolff launched his team-leading sixth home run of the season in the ninth inning, a two-run shot to cut the deficit to 11-7. The Eagles put two more runners on base, but the Cardinal closed the door, stopping the rally at 11-7 to take game three.

The Eagles celebrated their seniors on Sunday in the final home game of the 2025 campaign. Tyler Mudd logged 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out two with just one hit and one walk issued. Aidan Harrington finished the game on the mound for the Eagles, striking out the only batter he faced and preserving a 0.00 ERA on the season. Sam McNulty went 4-for-4, his first four-hit day of the season and a tie for his career-high in a single game. Vince Cimini logged two hits, both going for RBIs. Dylan Howanitz and Peter Schaefer recorded scoreless appearances out of the bullpen as well.

Entering the final two weeks of the regular season, the Eagles will play a two-game set at UMass Lowell next weekend before finishing the regular season at California in two weeks.
