Skull Session: Grok Predicts Five Ohio State Football National Championships Over the Next 50 Years, Ohio State Men’s Basketball Misses the NCAA Tournament

Welcome to the Skull Session.

I had a great weekend. I hope you had a great weekend, too. I’m all jacked up on Dragonfruit Lime Celsius, which means it’s time to caffeniate and dominate. It also means a Rapid Fire Skull Session™ is in order.

Cool?

Cool.

Word of the Day: Brevity

IT’S BACK! Ohio State football returns Monday.

Cheers to spring practice No. 1 of 15 between now and April 12!

HOW ‘BOUT THEM SUCKEYES? A small piece of Chase lore: For the past six or seven years, each time the Ohio State men’s basketball team loses, my Dad texts me, “How ’bout them Suckeyes?” He didn’t text me that line when the Buckeyes missed the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. I think, like a lot of us, he’s become apathetic toward the program that’s missed the Big Dance in three consecutive seasons.

Still, there are some Ohio State fans who have some passion left, such as Mark Titus, whose comments on the Buckeyes’ loss to Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament still feel relevant four days later:

MARCH MADNESS! Here’s who I have in the NCAA Tournament Final Four (as of Monday… these selections will change a half-dozen times before Louisville and Creighton kick off the tournament around noon on Thursday): No. 1 Auburn (South) vs. No. 2 St. John’s (West) and No. 1 Duke (East) vs. No. 2 Tennessee (Midwest). I see St. John’s vs. Duke in the championship, with the Blue Devils emerging victorious. Rick Pitino will do what he can for the Red Storm to win it all, but not even The Godfather will be able to contain Cooper Flagg and the Blue Devils.

Other notes from my bracket:

Michigan loses to UC San Diego (it’s always been about love and hate, now let me say I’m the biggest hater) and UCLA loses to Utah State in the first round (I like to see Mick Cronin explode like Anger in Inside Out). I picked Michigan State and Wisconsin to represent the Big Ten in the Elite Eight. I also picked Colorado State to make the Elite Eight with wins over Memphis and Maryland. The Rams are hot and will be this tournament’s Cinderella!

GROK KNOWS ALL. Last week, The Big Ten Huddle asked X’s AI software, Grok, to predict the next 50 Big Ten football champions. Here are the results, which include nine conference titles for Ohio State (and four for Clemson, three for Florida State and one for North Carolina?):

This post inspired me to ask Grok, “Which schools will win the next 50 college football national championships?” The AI predicted five national titles for Ohio State, one more than Alabama and Georgia (four) and two more than Michigan (three… but are we sure those titles will be legitimate?). Quick math tells me that’s an average of one championship per decade for the Buckeyes, which sounds good to me, but of course, I would love to see more!

THE GRANDDADDY OF THEM ALL. We’ve reached halftime for this Rapid Fire Skull Session™. How about we use this brief intermission to take in some scenes from the most beautiful place on Earth, Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California?

Here’s an Ohio State football quoted post for that video:

Yeah, that’ll do!

HOW’S HE DONE THAT THEN? On Sunday, No Context Ohio State Football posted this picture of Quinshon Judkins from the Tennessee game:

Three months later, I am still in awe.

How did Judkins hold onto the football?!

THAT’S A LOT OF EYEBALLS. College Football Alerts also posted Sunday the top 10 most-watched college football games in 2025 (spoiler – Ohio State appears on the list four times):

Siri, queue Gus Johnson’s “THE… World Famous Ohio State Buckeyeeeeeeeees!”

OLYMPIC VILLAGE. Last weekend, Ohio State men’s lacrosse (8-1) secured a 10-9 upset win over Notre Dame to extend its win streak to seven. On Sunday, the No. 9 Buckeyes made it eight in a row with a 15-11 victory against Denver.

In other words, the Bucks are hot. They don’t like it when the Bucks are hot.

But seriously.

Is Ohio State men’s lacrosse back?

Is it so back?

Oh, and how about that overtime winner for the men’s hockey team?!

Ohio State will face Michigan State in East Lansing on Saturday (7:30 p.m., Big Ten Network) with a Big Ten championship on the line!

SONG OF THE DAY. “Linger” – The Cranberries.

CUT TO THE CHASE. Chicago dyes its river bright green as it opens St. Patrick’s Day celebrations… Michigan judge wanted Walmart shoplifters to wash cars. His boss stepped on the hose… Illinois votes on a new state flag design — and chooses the current one… Ray Nicholson was dead set against acting, but “I am my dad’s kid”… A look at the complete NCAA Tournament first-round TV schedule.
