The Oklahoma Sooners made a huge hire on Wednesday when they announced Jim Nagy will be the new general manager of the football program. In the new era of college football that has roster limitations, revenue sharing, and constant turnover because of the transfer portal and name, image, and likeness, the Sooners‘ new general manager will be a huge asset in bringing it all into alignment.
Nagy interviewed for the New York Jets general manager job last offseason. He is one of the most respected voices in college football due to his work with the Senior Bowl. Nagy has been a preeminent voice in the draft process, as the Senior Bowl has provided both the known and the unknown with an opportunity to significantly improve their draft stock.
For the Sooners, this takes a lot off the plate of the coaching staff, especially from a financial standpoint. But with vast experience in talent evaluation, he’ll be able to help the Sooners coaching staff with roster construction in this new era of college football.
It was a move that was met with rave reviews across the college football and NFL landscape and here are some of the best reactions from social media.
