South Carolina upsets Texas A&M: 10 takes from Gamecocks’ physical mauling of Aggies

From the film, tight end’s the one position on the field often uncovered by this Texas A&M defense — which was ranked No. 1 in the SEC against conference competition coming in — and the Gamecocks exploited the weakness. After taking over at the Aggies’ 34-yard line, Sellers hit Sanders for a 14-yard gain in the flat to put the Gamecocks in the red zone before connecting on a well-placed ball to Joshua Simon in the corner of the end zone for a two-score lead. That’s back-to-back games that South Carolina has produced 14 points in the first seven minutes of the contest, doing so at Oklahoma previously with a pair of defensive scores. Simon dropped a pass in the end zone later in the first half, but finished with four catches for 132 yards, including his second score on a 57-yarder late.
