Steelers, Aaron Rodgers Land Jarring Projection

Following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ move to finally sign Aaron Rodgers, the expectations for the team have gone through the roof. They are expected to be a top-tier contender in the AFC with the future Hall of Fame quarterback leading the way.

Making this kind of a move is about one thing. It’s about pursuing a Super Bowl. Anything short of a deep playoff run would be a massive disappointment for the Steelers.

Despite the high expectations for the team, Pittsburgh has received a new jarring prediction that is far from what they’re hoping to get out of the 2025 season.

Pro Football Network analyst Jacob Infante has revealed his playoff predictions for the upcoming campaign. When it comes to the Steelers, they did not make the playoffs in his projections.

Coming in at No. 1 in the AFC were the Buffalo Bills. After the Bills, the Kansas City Chiefs were No. 2, the Baltimore Ravens were No. 3, the Houston Texans were No. 4, the Denver Broncos were No. 5, the Los Angeles Chargers were No. 6, and the Cincinnati Bengals were No. 7.

Not even making the playoffs would be brutal for Pittsburgh. That kind of failure could also cause major changes throughout the Steelers’ organization.

Heading into the 2025 season, head coach Mike Tomlin has been mentioned as a potential hot seat candidate. He has had a lot of regular season success, but Pittsburgh has not won a Super Bowl since the 2008 season.

Should the Steelers not make the playoffs, there is a very real chance that they could consider parting ways with Tomlin to bring in a new voice.

Pittsburgh still has time to continue improving the roster around Rodgers. The team could use another wide receiver on the roster alongside DK Metcalf. Keenan Allen has been suggested as a possible name to watch, as have both Amari Cooper and Chris Olave.

At this point, the Steelers should be looking to make any move they can to improve. This is a season to go all-in on competing for a championship.

It will be interesting to see what the upcoming season has in store. Infante’s prediction of missing the playoffs would be a massive disappointment and would force some difficult decisions to be made.

Expect to continue hearing a lot of speculation, predictions, and hot takes about Rodgers and Pittsburgh leading up to the start of the season.
