Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse men’s basketball will face Mercyhurst College in a non-conference game next year, according to a report from college basketball reporter Rocco Miller.
Miller cited anonymous sources.
The Lakers will be in their second year as a Division I program next year as they continue to transition up from Division II.
They play in the Northeast Conference, following the same path as Le Moyne College when the Dolphins made their DI transition.
Mercyhurst, which is located in Erie, Pennsylvania, went 15-16 last year in their first year in the conference with a 9-7 league record, splitting a pair of games with Le Moyne. They finished the year ranked No. 342 in the county in the Ken Pomeroy Basketball Ratings.
