Duquesne University head men’s basketball coach Dru Joyce III announced that Jordan Talley has joined the staff as an assistant coach.

Talley, a native of Lake City, Fla., joins the Dukes after spending the last three seasons as player development assistant with the University of Florida. Over his three years in Gainesville, Fla., the Gators compiled an overall record of 76-33 (.697), including a mark of 34-20 (.630) in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). His tenure culminated with the 2025 NCAA Championship as Florida finished 36-4 (.900) overall and earned wins over No. 1 seed Auburn, 79-73, in the 2025 NCAA Final Four and No. 1 seed Houston, 65-53, for the national title in San Antonio, Texas.

In Talley’s last season with the Gators, UF closed the year on a 12-game winning streak to be crowned national champions. Florida dropped an 88-83 decision at Georgia (2/25/25) but closed the regular season with a three-game winning streak and won three consecutive games in Nashville, Tenn., including an 86-77 win over No. 8 Tennessee to secure the 2025 SEC Tournament crown, before its run to the 2025 NCAA Championship. The Gators averaged 87.5 points per game during their historic surge, scoring 90 or more points five times, including a 104-82 win over No. 5 Alabama in the semifinals of the 2025 SEC Tournament.
Prior to his stint in Gainesville, Fla., Talley spent two seasons as a graduate assistant in Harrisonburg, Va., at James Madison from 2020-22. The Dukes finished with an overall record of 28-21 (.571) during his two years, including the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) regular-season championship. While serving as a graduate assistant at JMU, Talley earned a Master of Science degree in adult education and human resources development.
Talley is a 2015 graduate of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla., where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management. In his final season with the Fire, Talley averaged 7.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, shooting 39.4 percent (74-for-188) from the floor. As a junior, Talley helped SEU earn an appearance in the 2014 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Final Four as the Fire posted an overall record of 27-7 (.794).
Beginning his coaching career in the high school ranks, Talley spent the 2015-16 campaign as an assistant at Columbia High School in his hometown. He made his first stop in Gainesville, Fla., as an assistant coach at Santa Fe College in 2016-17 and also served as an assistant coach in the junior college ranks at both Polk State College (2017-18) and Tallahassee Community College (2019-20). In his lone season with the Eagles in 2019-20, Tallahassee Community College won the Panhandle Conference Championship and sent 10 student-athletes to NCAA Division I programs, including the No. 1 ranked junior college player in the country. During the 2018-19 season, Talley was the head coach of Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Fla.
Duquesne returns two starters in 2025-26 under Joyce III, who enters his second season as head coach. Returning as starters are redshirt senior guard Cam Crawford and junior forward Jakub Nečas. Crawford led the Atlantic 10 in three-point field goal percentage (.431) last year, while Nečas started 21 of his 29 games for the Dukes and scored in double figure on five occasions, with Duquesne 4-1 (.800) in those contests.
