TCU Baseball Announces 2025 Schedule

TCU baseball released its schedule for the 2025 season on Thursday, and there are several noticeable differences from past schedules.

First, TCU doesn’t have a late-season non-conference series that fans have become accustomed to. Instead, the Frogs have front loaded a strong non-con schedule to prepare for a Big 12 schedule that doesn’t include two familiar foes.

The schedule involves a trip to the west coast, a familiar series in Arlington, and all three Big 12 newcomers. Let’s jump in.

The Non-Cons

At San Diego | Feb. 14-17

Last Season: 41-15, No. 22 RPI

TCU opens the season with a four-game series at San Diego. The Frogs are making a return trip after the Toreros ventured to Fort Worth early in the 2023 season. TCU took two of three games from San Diego then.

The Toreros put together an impressive 2024 campaign that saw them eclipse the 40-win mark while claiming both the WCC regular season and tournament championships. San Diego made it to the finals of the Santa Barbara Regional, where they fell to UC Santa Barbara.

College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field | Feb. 21-23

TCU will make their annual regular season pilgrimage to Globe Life Field, where they’ll face Michigan, Arkansas and Kansas State. TCU last faced Michigan in 2023, in the Shriner’s Children’s Classic in Houston. The Frogs won that matchup 6-0.

TCU also last faced Arkansas in 2023, beating the Razorbacks in the regular season at Globe Life before winning consecutive games to eliminate Arkansas from the Fayetteville Regional. The Frogs outscored Arkansas 50-15 in those three games.

TCU took two of three from Kansas State a season ago before eliminating them from the Big 12 tournament, but the two teams won’t meet in conference play in 2025.

Southern Miss | Feb. 28-March 2

Last Season: 43-20, No. 27 RPI

The Golden Eagles will be one of TCU’s biggest tests early this season. Southern Miss has won at least 40 games in every season going back to 2016 (excluding a COVID-shortened 2020), and they seem primed to reach that mark again in 2024.

USM hosted Super Regionals in 2022 and 2023 before falling to Tennessee in the finals of the Knoxville Regional last season.

Fresno State | March 7-9

Last Season: 33-29, No. 176 RPI

TCU rounds out their non-conference weekend slate with a visit from the Bulldogs.

The Midweeks

TCU faces a slate of familiar foes in the midweek contests this season, including visits from UTSA, UTRGV and Tarleton State. Home and homes with Dallas Baptist and UT Arlington are also on the schedule, while TCU will visit Texas State.

TCU will also play host to Air Force in two midweek games.

The Big 12

TCU’s Big 12 slate features all three in-state bunkmates along with all three conference newcomers, but it doesn’t include Oklahoma State or Kansas State.

Arizona State | March 14-16

Last Season: 32-26, No. 86 RPI

TCU faced Arizona State last season, knocking off the Sun Devils in Arlington as a part of the College Baseball Series. Now, the two schools are conference foes and they kick off the in-conference battle in Fort Worth

at Texas Tech | March 21-23

Last Season: 33-26, No. 60 RPI

TCU took two of three from the Red Raiders in Fort Worth last season, bouncing back after a 7-1 loss in the series opener to win the next two.

at Houston | March 28-30

Last Season: 26-28, No. 112 RPI

TCU swept Houston last season in one of their few successful weekends in the Big 12. The Frogs will look to continue their success when they visit the Cougars in late March.

BYU | April 3-5

Last Season: 21-31, No. 131 RPI

BYU’s first season in the Big 12 was a struggle, as the Cougars went 7-23 in conference play. They’ll look to take a step in the right direction this season. For TCU, they’ll see a familiar face as former Frog Ryder Robinson is now playing for BYU.

Kansas | April 11-13

Last Season: 31-23, No. 71 RPI

Kansas broke TCU’s 13-game winning streak to open the season last year, before taking the series from the Horned Frogs 2-1. They started TCU’s downturn, and TCU will look to get back at the Jayhawks when they come to Fort Worth.

at UCF | April 17-19

Last Season: 37-21, No. 30 RPI

UCF overcame a losing record in the Big 12 by dominating their non-conference last season, earning a berth in the Tallahassee Regional. The Knights reached the regional final, where they fell to Florida State.

Baylor | April 25-27

Last Season: 22-31, No. 139 RPI

TCU-Baylor is a Big 12 protected rivalry, meaning the two teams will play every year in every sport. The Frogs swept Baylor near the end of last season in a last-ditch effort to resurrect their season. Beating a team outside the top 100 in RPI, along with a few games in the Big 12 tournament, wasn’t enough to get the Frogs into the NCAA Tournament.

at Arizona | May 2-4

Last Season: 36-23, No. 35 RPI

TCU and Arizona met last season in an early midweek game that the Horned Frogs took 6-1. Arizona finished the season in better shape, though, hosting a regional (that DBU wound up winning).

Cincinnati | May 9-11

Last Season: 32-25, No. 62 RPI

TCU will look to avenge a sweep at the hands of the Bearcats last season, when Cincinnati travels to Fort Worth in May. The series was one of the low points for TCU in 2024, who saw the weekend end in a 13-2 run-rule blowout.

at Utah | May 15-17

Last Season: 33-22, No. 83 RPI

TCU closes their season out with a trip to Salt Lake City. The Utes went 1-1 in pool play in the Pac-12 tournament, which wasn’t good enough to advance.
