Tennessee has landed a transfer pledge from former Kennesaw State reliever Bo Rhudy.
The 6-foot-4 righty announced his commitment to the Vols on Thursday. As a freshman for the Owls in 2024, Rhudy was an All-Atlantic Sun First Team selection. This season, Rhudy made 21 appearances on the mound with 2 wins and 5 saves.
Rhudy holds a career 2.97 ERA with a 6-1 record and 76 strikeouts against 19 walks in 72.2 innings. He was 2-0 with a 3.16 ERA in 2025, striking out 44 batters while walking 5 in 37 innings. The Chickamauga, Georgia, native has 11 career saves in 2 seasons for Kennesaw State.
He was a star as a freshman for Kennesaw State during the 2024 season. In 19 appearances (2 starts), Rhudy had a 2.78 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 35.2 innings. Batters hit just .190 against him. He was an All-Freshman Team selection and then an All-Tournament Team honoree in the Atlantic Sun.
His ERA rose as a sophomore, but he cut his walks, upped his strikeouts, and gave up 1 fewer home run than he did as a freshman.
Rhudy becomes the third pitcher to publicly commit to transfer to Tennessee, joining UNC Asheville pitcher Clay Edmondson and MIT pitcher Mason Estrada.
While the Vols are securing their future, Tennessee (46-17) isn’t quite ready to turn its attention to next season yet. UT meets Arkansas in the Fayetteville Super Regional, beginning on June 7, as it seeks a third consecutive trip to the College World Series.
