Tennessee Baseball Scrimmage Notes: Perry, Lawless continue strong fall

Tennessee baseball continued to get back to work on Wednesday afternoon coming off its pair of exhibition wins over Western Kentucky and Troy this past weekend. UT enjoyed a day off on Monday before jumping back into scrimmage action at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Wednesday was the second of four consecutive days in which Tennessee will hold intrasquad scrimmages. The Vols will enjoy a day off on Saturday before scrimmaging on Sunday for the fifth time in their fifth week of fall ball.

UT is looking to defend its title in 2025 after winning its first national championship in program history last season. Tennessee became the first No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament to win the national championship this past June since Miami did so in 1999. For the second consecutive day, the skipper elected to work on different situations throughout the entirety of the scrimmage by placing runners on base, changing how many outs there were or having each at-bat start with a different count. So instead of passing along the usual box score stats that I keep track of, here is the play-by-play of what took place with some notes and observations at the bottom.

First, a look at the lineups…
