Tennessee Titans are not trading the No. 1 pick: NFL Draft 2025 news, rumors

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Don’t expect the Tennessee Titans to trade the No. 1 pick and let another team swoop in to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

This came from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who posted Tuesday morning on social media that one of his sources said, “They never opened the door” on trade interest.

Rapoport called that interest “real.” Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson reportedly said last month on Nashville radio station 102.5 The Game that the Titans wanted three first-round picks or similar value to give up the top pick. The Browns and Giants inquired, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, with the Giants becoming the more aggressive team.

That should leave the Browns and Giants in a position to either take one of the remaining quarterbacks or go with top prospects Travis Hunter from Colorado and Abdul Carter of Penn State and try to trade back into the first round for their quarterback, which has become the growing sentiment among national and regional media.

The Browns have been linked to Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, and cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot reported they will likely have to trade up from No. 33 in the early second round to get him.

Jaxson Dart could end up with the Giants, if they trade up, according to SNY TV’s Connor Hughes.

The team to watch after the top three picks is New Orleans, which owns the No. 9 selection and recently lost quarterback Derek Carr to a shoulder injury for an indefinite period of time.

Cousins’ price tag

With the Browns adding Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett to their quarterback room, it likely removes them from the Kirk Cousins conversation. Another determent is the Atlanta Falcons asking teams to pick up $20 million of his salary, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Cousins has $45 million worth of guarantees left in his contract.

In another move Monday, Atlanta added former Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Easton Stick.

Fifteen players plan to be in Green Bay

Top prospects Cam Ward and Travis Hunter are planning to be in attendance Thursday night in Green Bay for the draft, according to a list posted by Schefter. Hunter’s Colorado teammate, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, is absent from the list.

Penn State’s Abdul Carter and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe are expected to be there.
