KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WCYB) — For the fourth time in five years, Tennessee will host an NCAA Baseball Regional at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Volunteers, who are the No. 14 national seed, will kick off their 2025 postseason and national title defense by hosting the Knoxville Regional. The regional lineup includes No. 2 seed Wake Forest, No. 3 seed Cincinnati, and No. 4 seed Miami (OH).
This marks Tennessee’s ninth NCAA Regional in program history and the fourth under head coach Tony Vitello. The Volunteers are making their sixth consecutive regional appearance and their 15th overall in the NCAA tournament.
If Tennessee advances from the Knoxville Regional, they will face the winner of the Fayetteville Regional, hosted by No. 3 national seed Arkansas. The Volunteers enter the tournament after reaching the SEC Tournament semifinals for the fourth time in the last five seasons, boasting a 43-16 overall record and a 16-14 mark in SEC play.
