Texas A&M HC Mike Elko’s son is a rising college baseball star

One of the downsides of being a coach is that sometimes you will miss your kids’ games and accomplishments. So, any chance to see a play either in person or via video is special.

A recent example of this was when Texas A&M’s assistant softball coach Russ Heffley got to throw out the first pitch to his daughter when the Aggies played George Washington. It was a heartwarming moment that the two would remember forever. Luckily with the invention of social media, we can also witness some of these some of these very same moments.

Over the weekend, Michael Elko, son of head Aggie football coach Mike Elko, hit his second home run of the season. He has a .333 average and 12 RBI on the season and has become one of the better players for the squad. He is a talented athlete and I’m betting we’ll see more home runs over the course of the season that will put a smile on his fathers face.

Below you can watch the home run against Longwood.
