The way-too-early rankings for the 2025 college football season are in, and one of the greatest challenges in building the pecking order — particularly in the transfer portal era — is the amount of parity that exists outside the elite tier. Teams like Texas A&M and Louisville, which narrowly missed the cut, carry just as much upside as some of the teams that stand inside the top 25. There is not an infinite amount of room in the rankings, though, which leaves some deserving squads on the outside looking in.
