Texas baseball secured an SEC title and a series victory over rival Oklahoma last weekend, but it wasn’t enough for the Longhorns to reclaim their spot at the top of the polls.

Coach Jim Schlossnagle’s team moved up one place to No. 2 in the D1 Baseball poll. There, the Longhorns trail only LSU, which took two out of three games from South Carolina over the weekend.

The Baseball America poll also moved Texas up one spot. There, the Longhorns came in at No. 5 behind Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina and LSU.

The Longhorns begin postseason play this week at the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Ala. Top-seeded Texas will play either Missouri, Alabama or Tennessee at 3 p.m. CT on Thursday in the quarterfinal round.
