The 2025 College Baseball Showdown kicks off this February, bringing three weeks of thrilling action on FloCollege and marking the long-awaited return of the Texas Longhorns baseball season.
Hosted at Globe Life Field, home of the 2023 World Series champion Texas Rangers, the tournament will feature many preseason-ranked top 25 teams from D1Baseball.com, all aiming for a strong early-season performance to build upon.
As college baseball fans across the nation gear up for the season, the excitement builds for matchups that could set the tone for the journey toward the College World Series.
Among the many powerhouse programs in action, the Texas Longhorns will be under the spotlight as they make their debut in the SEC.
Texas enters the season ranked No. 19, with high expectations and a predicted eighth-place finish in the SEC coaches preseason poll. The Longhorns will have help from outfielder Max Belyeu, named to the preseason first-team All-SEC after earning Big 12 Player of the Year honors in 2024, and catcher Ryan Galvan, who secured a spot on the preseason second-team All-SEC.
As the Longhorns face off against top-tier competition, including Louisville, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma State, these neutral-site matchups will be critical in shaping their season ahead.
