The 5 College Football Games to Watch in Week 10

Check out our preview of the week’s biggest game, (#4)Ohio State at (#3)Penn State as well as the action across the Big Ten.

Duke at (#5)Miami
Noon, ABC
It’s the Manny Diaz Bowl! The Blue Devils should have pulled off an upset of SMU last week, but a couple late special teams snafu cost them the victory. His players will be playing their hearts out to help their coach beat his former team. Will it be enough to finally knock off a ‘Canes team that’s flirted with disaster several times this season?
Prediciton: Miami-28, Duke-24

Florida at (#2)Georgia
3:30 p.m., ABC
There are no marquee games at 3:30 this week, just several that are likely blowouts that may turn out to be interesting (Oregon vs. Michigan, Texas Tech vs. Iowa State). This one seems to have the most potential of going down to the wire with Georgia’s inconsistent offense and the Gators playing much better than anticipated this season. If not, it’s still a good excuse to enjoy a cocktail.
Prediciton: Georgia-24, Florida-16

(#10)Texas A&M at South Carolina
7:30 p.m., ABC
The Gamecocks are a much better team than their 4-3 record indicates, with a defensive line that can cause any offense major headaches. The home crowd will be in a frenzy, feeling they’re due to pull off an upset after near misses against LSU and Alabama. The Aggies are on a roll, but will have their work cut out for them.
Prediction: Texas A&M-23, South Carolina-21

Louisville at (#11)Clemson
7:30 p.m., ABC
Clemon has been rolling since getting crushed by Georgia in week one. But they may have their hands full in this one. Louisville’s three losses have come to three ranked opponents by a single score. They’re also a pesky, fundamentally-sound team who is always up for a challenge.
Clemson-28, Louisville-23

(#18)Pitt at (#20)SMU
8 p.m., ACCN
I keep expecting Pitt to fall, yet they continue to find different ways to win. Whether it’s come-from-behind late rally against rival West Virginia, eeking past Cal in a defensive slugfest, or coming up with three pick-sixes to blow past Syracuse, the Panthers stand at 7-0 and are one of the biggest surprises of the season. While I can say some nice things about Pitt, I won’t be desecrating these pages by predicting a victory for the Panthers.
Prediction: SMU-35, Pitt-27
