Top247 rank: No. 121 overall, No. 5 RB
There aren’t really roadblocks to prevent Gideon Davidson from getting on the field. The Tigers’ starter from last year, Phil Mafah, is off to the NFL. His backup, Jay Haynes, is coming off a late-season ACL surgery. Only one other player on the roster, Keith Adams, earned at least 30 carries last year.
Davidson, already on campus as an early enrollee, doesn’t just have a path to the field. He’s expected to play for Clemson in 2025. Don’t be shocked if MaxPreps’ 2023 National Junior of the Year is starting for the Tigers in Week 1 against LSU.
OUSMANE KROMAH, FLORIDA STATE RB
Top247 rank: No. 107 overall, No. 3 RB
Florida State made an aggressive push to flip Ousmane Kromah away from Georgia.
When you combine the Seminoles’ NIL investment in Kromah with their lack of a portal running back, the signs are clear that Kromah will play a big role in their 2025 plans.
Kromah is one of the best all-around backs in the 2025 class and runs with a nasty streak.
Given how important the run game is to new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, expect Kromah to see a heavy dose of carries in Year 1.
