These 5 Alabama football players made preview magazine All-America teams

It’s preview magazine season, and just like most other years, Alabama football players are highly thought of by both Lindy’s and Athlon Sports. Between the two publications, five Crimson Tide players were named to All-America teams ahead of the 2025 season.

Alabama won’t begin preseason camp until early August, before opening the season Aug. 30 with a trip to Florida State. As the wait for Kalen DeBoer’s second season in Tuscaloosa continues, here’s a look at the players who top preseason preview magazines selected for their All-America teams.

Ryan Williams

Athlon: First team

Lindy’s: First team

What to know: The man who famously starred at wide receiver as a 17-year-old freshman for Alabama returns as a full legal adult. Expectations couldn’t be higher for Williams, who will appear on the cover of the upcoming EA Sports College Football 26 video game, alongside Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith.

Kadyn Proctor

Athlon: First team

Lindy’s: First team

What to know: Proctor has improved through each of his two seasons with the Crimson Tide. Heading into his junior season, the world is taking notice, and Proctor is expected to become the next great Alabama offensive lineman, show out in 2025 and make the jump to the NFL.

Parker Brailsford

Athlon: Second team

Lindy’s: Second team

What to know: Brailsford improved the center position at Alabama after moving over from Washington alongside DeBoer. He had a choice as to whether he would return for 2025 or try his luck in the NFL Draft, but quickly opted to come back, and will be a key part of the Crimson Tide’s veteran offensive line in DeBoer’s second season.

LT Overton

Athlon: Third team

Lindy’s: N/A

What to know: Overton was overlooked by Lindy’s, which does not publish an All-America third team, but likely won’t be by opposing offensive coordinators. Overton played well in his first year after transferring in from Texas A&M, and will look to improve by getting quarterbacks on the ground more often in 2025.

Deontae Lawson

Athlon: Third team

Lindy’s: N/A

What to know: Lawson thought he was heading to the pro level before a torn ACL in Alabama’s loss to Oklahoma caused him to reevaluate. The linebacker and defensive captain instead chose to return, and will be trying to prove his knee is fully recovered to NFL teams, while giving the UA defense a huge boost.
