Alex Hunter dives into tonight’s seven-game NBA main slate to find three players you need to have in your DraftKings lineups.

Sunday night’s NBA slate on DraftKings features six games and begins at 6:00 PM EST. Below, I dive into three of my favorite DFS options to consider for tonight’s NBA action.

C, Kyle Filipowski, Utah Jazz vs. New Orleans Pelicans, $5,200

The tanking Jazz are going to be very shorthanded Sunday with Lauri Markkanen (back), John Collins (back), Walker Kessler (rest), Jordan Clarkson (foot) and Collin Sexton (ankle) all out. Just last Wednesday, all of these players were inactive for the first time this season and Filipowski started at center and erupted for a career-high 49.75 FPTS across 36.3 minutes vs. the Trail Blazers. The rookie saw a 17% usage rate in that contest and Filipowski is amassing 1.0 FPTS per minute with all five of those players off the floor this season.

Around 35 minutes is a fair expectation for him again Sunday and this is the ultimate matchup for a center vs. the Pelicans. This season, New Orleans ranks 29th in defensive efficiency, third in most rebounds allowed and second in most points in the paint allowed. Opposing centers dominate the Pelicans on a nightly basis and Flilpowski is the No.1 value on the slate in this perfect situation for him.

PG, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder at San Antonio Spurs, $10,500

Gilgeous-Alexander is underpriced for life without Chet Holmgren (out, ankle). Gilgeous-Alexander has made 39 starts without Holmgren this season and Gilgeous-Alexander is producing 56 FPTS per game with a huge 35.6% usage rate on those occasions. The MVP frontrunner generates 1.6 FPTS per minute with Holmgren off the floor and this is a prime matchup for Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Spurs rank 23rd in defensive efficiency and are playing their second game in two nights. In this spot, the Thunder boast a massive 126.5-point implied team total on DraftKings Sportsbook, which is the highest team total on the slate by a significant seven points. Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 55.7 FPTS per game when playing an implied team total of at least 120 points this season and he is the best stud to build around for this six-game slate.

PF/C, Kelly Olynyk, New Orleans Pelicans at Utah Jazz, $5,100

Olynyk is too cheap for his new role with the Pelicans. Since coming over from the Raptors in the Brandon Ingram trade, Olynyk has been starting for New Orleans and in his last three, he is scoring 30.5 FPTS in 20.5 minutes per game. Olynyk is amassing 1.1 FPTS per minute with a 17.3% usage rate since joining the Pelicans and this is an awesome matchup for him against the Jazz, who are one of Olynyk’s former teams.

Utah ranks dead last in defensive efficiency and New Orleans carries a 119.5-point implied team total on DraftKings Sportsbook in this spot, which ranks second only to the Thunder tonight. Olynyk has the potential for 35-40 FPTS and is a great target for all formats.
