SPEARFISH, S.D. – A trio of Spearfish seniors have signed on to play college football at the next level.
Aiden Kracht signed with Dickinson State University in North Dakota. The tight end and linebacker had his 2024 season cut short by an ACL injury midway through the year, but has been working hard to get back on the field.

“It’s definitely a huge relief that I can continue on and keep playing,” Kracht says. “I worked really hard this last few seasons to better myself as a player, and so having it pay off is really cool, it’s very exciting.”
The second Spartan gridiron star to sign was Layton Loup, who picked Dakota State University. The lineman didn’t think he would be able to play college football initially. He wanted to go to an in-state tech school, none of which offered football programs. But as the fall turned into winter, he realized he loved the game too much and wanted to keep playing, so he started to reach out to college coaches.
“Dakota State was my top school. They’re a great program, great culture,” Loup says. “I went to a prospect camp there, so that was already my first interest. Talking to Coach Randle there. He finally reached back, and it was wraps from there. Had a phone call within ten minutes of texting him, and so, it was great.”
Evan Wilson was the final Spearfish senior to sign, going with North Dakota State College of Science. The running back and linebacker didn’t really get catch the bug to play college football until the Spartans successful 2024 season, when they went 6-4 and made it to the state quarterfinals.
“We as a program had a pretty good season. It was definitely very different than it’s been in the past, and I think after the season ended, what stuck for me is, I felt like I wasn’t done,” Wilson says.
Dylon Doren will be joining Evan at North Dakota State College of Science, but was unable to making the signing ceremony.
Check back later in the week to hear from Aiden Meverdan, Charlie Rasmussen, Jozie Dana and Allison Kennedy.
