Ties in college baseball, ‘You’re going to see it more and more.’

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – Iowa Baseball tied Oregon State on Sunday afternoon.

The draw happened due to the Beavers’ travel curfew. They had to catch a flight back to school.

It’s something that Iowa head coach, Rick Heller, thinks is not going to be unusual anymore.

“You’re going to see it more and more when the teams have to travel further distances,” said Heller.

Heller said that it stems in part from expanded conferences that have increased travel.

That tie could go a long way when decided Iowa’s NCAA Tournament fate.
