We were washed out of baseball yesterday, thunderstorms passing through the NYC area Saturday afternoon and putting Yankees-Blue Jays on pause. No matter, we’ll play two today, with Max Fried facing off with Kevin Gausman in game one and Clarke Schmidt taking on Chris Bassitt in game two. It’s a nice pair of pitching matchups, and if we’re lucky we’ll see the Yankees extend their AL East lead by the end of it.
Ahead of the twin-bill, you can catch up on Matt’s review of last night’s action from the Yankees’ rivals, as well as Matt’s look at an interesting story from Yankees history, in which a pitcher thought he threw a no-hitter, only to have it stripped by a scorer’s ruling, evoking Fried’s experience in Tampa last weekend. And later, John will spin through Yankees social media, which sees Austin Wells still rating burritos despite his recent bout with food poisoning.
